City Clerk

The City Clerk works for the City Council and is responsible for:

  • Maintaining official Minutes of all Council proceedings
  • Preparing Agendas for Council meetings

In addition, the City Clerk's office:

  • Administers Oath of Office for public officials
  • Certifies official documents
  • Files official notices for advertisement
  • Is the custodian of the official City Seal and the Code of Ordinances
  • Is the legal custodian of the City's permanent records including resolutions and contracts
  • Prepares documents for candidate filing for city elections
  • Receives referendum, recall, and initiative petitions from citizens
  • Supervises the disposal of non-permanent records
  • Supervises the retention of permanent records
  • Recording and filing of official city records
  • Notarizes documents
