    The purpose for this project is to develop a bicycle and pedestrian master plan for the City of St. Charles. The master planning will be a joint effort between the City of St. Charles Public Works Department and the City of St. Charles Parks and Recreation Department.

    The City will be implementing a bike trail to connecting from the Katy Trail to the Great Rivers Greenway Trail.

  7. 94 Corridor Study

    The project will study MO 94 from Route 364 to I-70, including access modifications for Muegge Road to Route 364. The project will look at the existing and projected conditions and determine the need and type of future improvements along MO 94 to serve future traffic needs.

  9. First Capitol Drive Enhancements

    The scope entails constructing new ADA accessible sidewalks, new pedestrian and street lighting, and landscaping along First Capitol Dr., from Fifth St. to the alley east of Second St, and on Fifth St., from First Capitol Dr. to Madison St. This project will also include a water main replacement along First Capitol Dr. within the aforementioned project limits, bus shelters, and a 2” asphalt mill and overlay.

  16. Grant Funding Applications

    The department of Public Works recently submitted (7) federal grant applications requesting a total of $15,708,118 for the following proposed projects: Friedens Road Street Lights, Harry S. Truman Road – Phase 2, West Clay Street Preservation, Regency Parkway/Veterans Memorial Drive Traffic Signal, Droste Street/West Clay Street Intersection Realignment, St. Charles Bike/Pedestrian Facilities, and Elm Point Industrial Drive Traffic Signal.   18. Randolph Street Water Main Replacement

    The project will replace water mains along Randolph St from Concordia Ln to Wilmington Dr. Project will improve fire flow and provide additional flow for the Villages of Provence development.

  19. Second Street Waterline Replacement

    The project will construct a new 8" main along Second Street from Boone's Lick to First Capitol Drive. The waterline along Second Street has been a high maintenance area since 2011 experiencing multiple main breaks. This project will replace the existing 6" water main with a new 8" water main. This will also provide a redundant feed to the downtown area in the event of breaks to the major lines on First Capitol and Madison.

  20. Rio Vista Dr. Culvert and S. Fifth Street Culvert

    This project will replace the existing undersized Rio Vista Culvert with a 10' x 20' Box Culvert and replace the existing undersized 5th Street Culvert with a 10' x 22' Box Culvert.

  21. 370 and Mel Wetter Interchange Study

    This project will study potential interchange improvements at MO 370 and Mel Wetter Parkway. It is thought that the MO 370 and Mel Wetter Interchange would provide better access for the public to a major highway.This project will look at alternatives to providing access at this interchange and the traffic volume projections for the area.

  22. Boschert Creek Lower Trunkmain

    The project will improve sanitary sewer capacity along the Boschert Creek Trunk main near Mueller road south across MO 370. The Mississippi Trunk main Model identified that this area needs additional capacity to handle flows during wet weather conditions.

  23. Barthel and North Main Drainage Improvements

    The project will clear and improve conveyance of the existing open channel from North 3rd Street to North Main Street. The project will clean debris and silt from the existing box culvert in the 300 block of Barthel to the east side of North 3rd Street / Highway 94, just south of Hwy 370. This will convert an unimproved drainage ditch to an engineered channel and alleviate flash flooding on Highway 94 at this location.

  24. MO Flood Gates #1

    This project will upgrade Floodgate #1 by raising the Floodgate to the appropriate height, new fencing and access, as well as extensive regrading of the outfall to the Missouri River.

  25. 370 Pedestrian Bridge

    This project will install barrier separated, bicycle pedestrian paths on the 370 bridges over the Missouri River. These barriers will help protect bicyclists and pedestrians that cross the river from St. Charles to St. Louis County. When complete, the project will connect the Katy Trail to the Riverwoods Trail.

  26. St. Linus and St. Leonard Sewer Reconstruction

    The area immediately upstream of this project has been experiencing sanitary sewer backups during storm events. In 2014 and 2015 City Staff modeled and inspected the sewer mains in this area. It was determined that the sanitary backups in the area could be eliminated by upgrading the existing 8 inch sewer to a 12 inch sewer for approximately 250 feet.
