Surplus City Property
In Spring 2013, the City of St. Charles began using an online auction service to advertise the city's surplus items. The use of this service maximizes taxpayers' dollars by:
Allowing assets to be sold as they become surplus
Eliminating the cost associated with hosting an annual auction
Increasing the probability of higher return
Providing the city with exposure to buyers across the country
How It Works
The city will place surplus items for auction with GovDeals, a company that provides online auction services to government agencies.
The easiest way to find the city’s items is to Search By Location. In the postal / Zip Code box, type 63301 and click Submit. If the City of St. Charles is not listed in the menu, we are not currently auctioning any items. Surplus items will be added as they become available. You may want to bookmark GovDeals and check back often.
To bid on an item, you must register with GovDeals. There is no cost to register. Be sure to read and accept the bidders' agreement which states the terms and conditions.
For additional information about the city's surplus items call the Information Office at 636-949-3200. For questions about using the GovDeals site, see Frequently Asked Questions online.
